Our Story
At Community Bible Study we delight in removing obstacles to studying the Bible. Since its inception 45 years ago our philosophy has been that it is every person's Bible study, available to all. Each man, woman, youth, and child will be so cared for and loved that all will feel comfortable in their class regardless of background, education, church involvement, ethnicity, or economic status. Our desire is to build unity in the midst of diversity in our community.
The first Community Bible Study started as a result of prayer, and the ministry continues to undergird everything it does with the same emphasis on prayer. This is God's ministry, and we seek to do everything for His glory. At the heart of it all, we want to know God.
As well, we identify, train, develop and equip leaders with the goal of facilitating continued involvement with the Bible because it’s incredibly encouraging to see what happens when the Bible begins to take root in people’s lives. We are intentional, offering deliberate discipleship and meaningful engagement. People are impacted through their individual study and as they participate in group discussion and share their personal stories with each other. We are relentlessly dedicated to walking with people by praying, encouraging, communicating, supporting and responding relationally.
