Welcome to Community Bible Study Canada.
Thank you for opening my message! I have been pondering and praying over what to say to you....what are you looking for? What does CBS Canada have to offer you? What will time in CBS do for you?
First of all, a CBS class is a place for you to grow: in a relationship with Jesus Christ through the in-depth study of Scripture, as well as in fellowship with other Christians. We want everyone who comes to feel comfortable, feel cared for and grow confident in the study of the Word. We strive to create an environment where EVERY person will encounter Christ and be transformed into His likeness.
Secondly, I have found CBS to be an amazing leadership development ministry. I personally have seen person after person grow in their faith, and then step up into leadership in CBS or their churches or communities. Every CBS leader receives initial and then some on-going training to facilitate their growth in leadership.
Thirdly, we never know what we will face in life, what storms we will encounter. My desire and I believe yours as well, is to stand firm in faith, not to stumble. Ephesians 6:14 says: “Stand firm, therefore, having girded your loins with Truth.” As you attend a CBS class, you will have a continual Truth encounter. You will have home study questions, you will be in a small group where a trained facilitator will lead the discussion and give everyone opportunity to contribute, you will hear a lecture which aims to challenge each one to apply what they have learned in the passage studied. Then, you will have a commentary written by a Bible scholar to round out the passage you have studied.
I am passionate about seeing people established in the Bible. Why? Because I have personally experienced the profound difference that KNOWING God, through His Word, makes in the midst of a crisis. When the trial came, I discovered that I was able to trust God and to stand firm in faith. This was the result of having studied His Word in depth, and coming to understand His character and promises as revealed in Jesus Christ. So this is my passion: to see everyone have the opportunity that I have had, to know the Lord through the in-depth study of the Scriptures.
In-depth Bible study is an investment that pays eternal dividends. I invite you to join us as we “press on to maturity” and discover with us “His riches in glory in Christ Jesus!”
